"Deze korte introductie geeft een overzicht van regelgeving op het terrein van het gebruik van patiëntgegevens. In de in- en externe omgeving van zorginstellingen en zelfstandig werkende beroepsbeoefenaren zijn steeds meer processen digitaal. Deze ontwikkeling brengt nieuwe problemen met zich en roept vragen op. De regelgeving over het gebruik van persoonsgegevens al dan niet langs elektronische weg is echter talrijk. Dat geldt evenzeer voor regelgeving op het terrein van de gezondheidszorg. Inzicht in wat rechtens is, wordt daardoor bemoeilijkt. Daarom is getracht een relevante selectie te maken van zowel de gezondheidsrechtelijke regelgeving als de regelgeving ter zake van het gebruik van persoonsgegevens en elektronische omgevingen. Het doel is de eerste handvatten te bieden. De regelgeving zelf zal de weg wijzen bij een specifieke vraag of casus."

Improving the quality of environmental law is high on the agenda of both the European Union and its Member States. In the Netherlands, there has been a series of changes of law in order to simplify and improve the complex and fragmented system of environmental law. However, the improvement of sectoral legislation has not led to the desired result. The Dutch legislature now considers a fundamental reform of environmental law necessary. One of the main goals is to achieve a coherent approach towards the physical environment in policy, decision-making and regulations. The Environment and Planning Act brings together 26 acts and about 120 governmental decrees in the area of spatiality and planning, infrastructure, nature and water, in order to create a single act for the physical environment. This book focuses on one of the key instruments of environmental law, the environmental permit. The integration of sectoral environmental permit systems is a way to simplify and speed up decision-making procedures for the authorisation of activities affecting the physical environment. The goal is to introduce a fully integrated environmental permit system. This means not only procedural integration of sectoral permitting systems but also substantive integration of the various assessment criteria. This concept of integrated environmental permitting has generated a great deal of discussion in the Netherlands. In the context of this research, an overview will be given of developments in the field of integrated environmental permitting in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Developments in EU environmental law and the new Dutch Environment and Planning Act are also included

Cette synthèse sur les Provinces-Unies, depuis les débuts de la Révolte (vers 1555) jusqu'à l'invasion par les troupes françaises (1795) et l'époque napoléonienne met en lumière la place singulière et cruciale de la République des Provinces-Unies des Pays-Bas dans l'histoire politique, confessionnelle, économique et culturelle de l'Europe et du monde durant la période moderne. Au-delà de l'image traditionnelle d'un État riche de sa conquête de terres sur la mer du Nord, de son économie florissante grâce au commerce maritime et de ses artistes et penseurs, les Provinces-Unies furent capables d'assurer leur indépendance nationale au prix d'un effort militaire inouï pendant plus d'un siècle et demi et de maintenir un fragile équilibre politique qui a survécu à toutes les crises intérieures et extérieures. Sur ces terres qui furent un foyer d'immigration très dynamique, attirant ceux qui cherchaient du travail et une vie meilleure, les villes offraient une cohabitation inédite pour l'époque entre des communautés de différentes confessions. Outre une agriculture prospère et précocement tournée vers la commercialisation, le pays fut le siège de nombreux progrès techniques et c'est à La Haye ou Amsterdam que l'imprimerie a alimenté pendant toute la période l'Europe en feuilles et ouvrages. Cette solide synthèse thématique et chronologique sur la longue durée sera étayée par un lexique, une chronologie et une série de documents (courts extraits de textes, graphiques, tableaux statistiques, cartes historiques, reproductions d'œuvres d'art) illustrant les séquences les plus importantes.

The book about the Westerweel Group tells the fascinating story about the cooperation of some ten non-conformist Dutch socialists and a group of Palestine Pioneers who mostly had arrived in the Netherlands from Germany and Austria the late thirties. With the help of Joop Westerweel, the headmaster of a Rotterdam Montessori School, they found hiding places in the Netherlands. Later on, an escape route to France via Belgium was worked out. Posing as Atlantic Wall workers, the pioneers found their way to the south of France. With the help of the Armée Juive, a French Jewish resistance organization, some 70 pioneers reached Spain at the beginning of 1944. From here they went to Palestine. Finding and maintaining the escape route cost the members of the Westerweel Group dear. With some exceptions, all members of the group were arrested by the Germans. Joop Westerweel was executed in August 1944. Other members, both in the Netherlands and France, were send to German concentration camps, where some perished.
